Peter commented “The job went really well, he was really impressed. The house has been so much warmer that he hasn’t used his fire since (note that this includes the cold snap where we had snow in most parts of NZ). He believes he has saved so much money on firewood. He was about to order more firewood but hasn’t bothered. He previously used to light the fire every afternoon at 3pm.

His 75 and 89 year old parents came to visit and stayed longer as they felt the home was warmer than their own which is only 5 years old.

Regarding our staff, he said that they were really great guys, they knew what was going on, were informed and able to answer all his questions, he felt this was abnormal as most workers just say “I don’t know”.

Peter has shown his insulation to others who have been impressed regarding how thick it was.

His underfloor was installed days later and Peter was interested to note that just the ceiling insulation made a significant improvement in the warmth of the home and it was like there was a layer of warm air towards the ceiling and a layer of cold air towards the floor. This changed when the underfloor was installed.

He said that his children have also commented that this is now the warmest house that they have ever lived in.

Even today Peter had just come from another home and commented how much colder it felt than his newly insulated property.

He is on the DPB and was so appreciative that this work helped make his family more comfortable and is saving them money.
