Insulating your home is the most effective thing you can do to keep your home warm and healthy whilst saving energy and money! Not only will it keep the home warmer in the winter, it will also keep it cooler in the summer!

Unfortunately, many people are unaware that older insulation products have not stood the test of time. Check your ceiling insulation – if it is thin (75mm or less) or uneven and patchy, it's not doing its job.

We believe you should insulate your home once. This is why we use a quality product called NOVAtherm. It stands the test of time and has a 50 year guarantee!

What is Novatherm?

Novatherm Insulation

Novatherm is a polyester insulation which has no added chemicals or irritating fibres, it is similar to what is in your pillows and duvets therefore it is a safe choice for your family. The other key benefit is that it will keep its loft and provide effective insulation for at least 50 years.

Novatherm is made in New Zealand and has a well-proven record of performance.

It is one of a handful of fully BRANZ appraised insulation products. They have a full range of insulation ratings, from R1.8 through to R4.

How is it installed?

Novatherm comes as a rolled blanket so it’s easy to install and provides total coverage – no exposed ceiling joists to allow further heat loss, we cleverly roll it out across your roof cavity like a duvet on your bed!

Underfloor Thermal Insulation

Novafloor Underfloor Insulation

Without thermal insulation, heat can escape through your home’s floor as through the ceiling. However underfloor insulation is also about blocking the moisture that evaporates from the earth. Research shows that up to 200L a week can be released under your home. Over time, this damages timber and contributes to health problems, such as persistent colds and coughs, and asthma as moisture is entering the home.

So the first thing we look to do is ‘sealing’ the earth with a polythene sheet, this is the first defense barrier against the moisture and very important. We then install the thermal insulation under the floor, this will then help the air in your home to be warmer, drier, and healthier.

How is it installed?

If you see the pictures above, you'll see how the product is friction fitted between the joists. We push one side in flat and then fold the other end down to create a solid, strong moisture seal stopping wind and draughts from entering your home. Plus if your house flexes the product will stay in place. If you want to do renovations then you just simply remove it and place it back once you're done without damaging your home or the product!
